Did you know that, according to an Asian Development Bank 2015 report, women in Asia are on average 70% less likely than men to be in the labor force despite economic growth and increasing education. Women have less access to training, networks, and information, which limits their opportunity to create and grow businesses. To address the challenges, the East-West Center, an institution established by the U.S. Congress in 1960, has launched the “Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar.” It is a 12-day immersive, leadership and professional development seminar designed for business and social entrepreneur women to enhance leadership skills and entrepreneurial capacity and expand networks. The program will take place in Hawaii in June, 2017. The East-West Center will cover lodging, meals, and local transportation. Participants are responsible for their roundtrip airfare to and from Honolulu. The application deadline is Thursday, February 21, 2017. If you are a female business manager, entrepreneur, industry policymaker, civil society leader, or if you know someone who is, don’t hesitate to check here for more information and apply: https://goo.gl/msOCdd
